There’s a moment I witnessed years ago at a luxury boutique.
The entire store froze.
Kanye West had just walked in.
You could feel it instantly.
People became more careful.
Less natural.
Almost… smaller.
Except one person.
Omar Hindash.
He walked up to him and said:
“Mr Kanye, welcome.”
That was it.
No performance.
No pressure.
No trying to impress.
Just a normal interaction.
They started talking.
Not as salesperson and celebrity.
But as two people.
Present. Direct. Equal.
And something shifted.
A few minutes later, Kanye and his manager made a decision:
They wanted him.
Not anyone else.
And here’s the part that stayed with me:
On their way to the store, they messaged him.
Asking if he could grab them sandwiches.
Think about that.
From walking into a luxury boutique…
to trusting someone with something that simple.
That’s what interaction does.
It doesn’t reward who tries the hardest.
It responds to who stays real.
Most people try to impress…He didn’t.”
